Contrada of the Tower July Update

Dear Tower Contrada Members,

Greetings! I hope this finds you well and enjoying the peace of the Lord.

Your "Tower Team" met this week to plan activities for our Contrada and we had a fantastic session. We have many ideas for faith formation, service opportunities, community outreach, and social events. We're taking the preliminary steps required to put these ideas into action and we'll soon be asking you to get involved. Come to the meet-and-greet Monday to hear more.

Upcoming Events!

July 12 - Meet-and-Greet: Griffin's Restaurant in downtown Youngsville.

August 7: I'm happy to say our Tower Contrada is sponsoring Retreat led by Father Tighe on Saturday, August 7th from 8:30AM until Noon. The morning will include Mass, reflection, prayer and time together with friends and with Our Lord. Thank you Jayne Gallo for pursuing this!

September 18th - Tower Contrada Mass: Instead of a potluck afterward we plan to hold a picnic before the Mass. More details will follow but we'll have an afternoon of fellowship and begin to prepare the Contrade Games that will be held at the second annual Festival of Flags on 10/09/10. On that day, in addition to a beautiful outdoor Mass and a day of entertainment and fun for the family, the Games will likely include a beanbag toss tournament, relay races, a talent show, a Tug O' War tournament, and a Jeopardy style "knowledge of the faith" competition.

October 9 - Second Annual Festival of Flags

I hope to see you this coming Monday (07/12) at 6:00 at Griffin's restaurant in Youngsville for our next meet-and-greet.

Successful Meet & Greet

Thanks to all the wonderful Tower Contrada members who made it to our Meet & Greet. It was a delight to meet everyone and it was encouraging to see everyone so eager to volunteer to help make our Contrada strong. For all of you who were unable to attend, we still need your help. In the next week or so, I'll post a list of different areas for you to look at and see if you are interested in helping out in any of them.
